According to SPAL manager, Leonardo Semplici, his team gave up too easily against Cagliari in today’s Italian Lega Serie A match.
The game was part of the 2019-2020 Italian Lega Serie A season.
And SPAL coach Leonardo Semplici was not happy that his team “gave up too easily.”
“We didn’t deserve to go behind in the first half, but there was little we could do on that world-class goal from Nainggolan,” Semplici was quoted by Football Italia.
“We knew that Cagliari had a lot of quality and we caused them problems with Jasmin Kurtic forcing a tough save.”
He added: “A light went out after the second goal and we risked losing by a heavier scoreline at that stage.”
“This must help us to mature because we’d done so well for an hour and were naïve.”
“It’s disappointing, as we could’ve brought home important points,” he said.
“It is irritating that once again we are empty-handed away from home.”
SPAL is currently in the relegation zone of the Serie A with only two wins in eight matches.
The team has drawn zero times but has lost four of their last five games in the competition.
