Despite talks of an imminent move to Juventus, Arthur Melo still remains well in Quique Setien’s plans for Barcelona until the end of the season.
Multiple reports have already claimed Arthur is all but set to join Juventus at the end of the season.
As expected, many have started to question if Arthur can remain focused with Barcelona until the end of the season.
Regardless of the reports, Quique Setien still has the 23-year-old in his plans and wants him to finish the season strong with Barcelona regardless of wherever his future lies.
“In principle I’m counting on him,” Setien said of Arthur as quoted by Marca.
“He’s going to travel [to Vigo] and has a chance to play tomorrow.
“The important thing is that this does not affect him and that, if he plays, he is at his best.”
Setien also added that the club have not informed him about the player’s departure.
“I don’t take that for granted,”
“The club haven’t informed me that he’s leaving.
“And even if it has already happened, he’s going to stay with us until the final training session [of the season].
“If that happens, I’ll try to convince him that he should leave a good memory.
“The most important thing is to be honest until the last day and I’m convinced that Arthur is.”
Setien would be hopeful the transfer talks won’t affect the midfielder’s performances on the pitch.
