Sevilla’s Diego Carlos insists he is focused on finishing the season with his current club, but refused to rule out a summer move to Barcelona.

Sevilla center-back Diego Carlos has been linked with a summer move to Barcelona.

Carlos only arrived from Ligue 1 side Nantes this past summer. But, he is widely considered to have been a key player in helping former Real Madrid boss Julen Lopetegui’s Sevilla side rise to the dizzying heights of third in La Liga.

In an interview with Onda Cero, the defender insists he is focused on the task in hand, but will consider his future at a later date.

He said:

“I don’t know if Barcelona wants me.”

“There is a lot of news that comes out and that we see, but I don’t know.”

“What I think about is to finish the league as good as possible and I leave that for later.”

“They are very serious things for me and these situations must be left for later.”

“I am focused exclusively on playing and finishing the season with Sevilla as good as possible.”

Carlos is also under the watch full eye of Jurgen Klopp. The Liverpool boss apparently wouldn’t mind pairing Carlos with Van Dijk at the back for the Anfield club next season.
