The Manchester United defender knows his team lost 2-0 at home and they need a big win in France to advance in the next UEFA Champions League round.
French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain defeated English Premier League side Manchester United 2-0 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16.
And for the Red Devils to advance to the next round, they need a gigantic win in Paris.
United defender Luke Shaw talked to the press today, and he says he believes his team can do well against PSG.
“The most important thing right now is that, I know we’re 2-0 down, but we’re so positive and so confident within the team,” he told the Manchester United website.
“We have to pull off something special, but I feel that we’re capable of it.”
“I am really positive that we can go there and get a result and get through to the next round,” he added.
“Most importantly we need to make sure we don’t concede, especially early on.”
Since losing at home against PSG, Manchester United defeated Chelsea 2-0 in the FA Cup Fifth Round, then tied 0-0 with then-EPL-leaders Liverpool, and defeated Crystal Palace 3-1 and Southampton 3-2.
“I feel if we get one goal then it’ll make the tie completely different. They’ll feel it and it might change the game completely,” Shaw continued.
“It’s a long time, 90 minutes, and you never know what can happen if we get that early goal and our confidence goes onto an even higher level.”
“I feel we can do it with the way we’re going at the minute, especially away,” the defender said.
“We just need to defend well and when we get our chances, take them. We did it away to Juventus, a very tough game, and very few people do that”.
This is why we call it the Theatre of Dreams. ♥️ #MUFC
