Everton started the league campaign miserably after winning just seven points in six matches.

The Blue part of Liverpool looked optimistic before the start of the season. With the manager and players already creating chemistry last season, this was the one to materialize it.

However, Everton are severely underperforming their expectations at the start of the season.

Marco Silva’s side noted three losses in six matches played. Sufficient to say that this isn’t the record they were hoping for, even with two victories and a draw.

What morries Toffies, even more, is that the losses didn’t come from the top sides. They couldn’t save points against any of Aston Villa, Bournemouth or Sheffield United.

What’s even more worrying is Everton’s goalscoring woes. They only found the net five times until now.

The team’s biggest star, Richarlison, scored twice, but the rest of the squad will have to pick up the pace.

Everton are facing Sheffield Wednesday in their Carabao Cup outing tonight.

As per Sky Sports, Marco Silva said:

“We have to show stronger character, personality.

“It is not the moment for anyone to hide.

“I said it inside the dressing room, too (after the Sheffield United defeat) there is nowhere we can hide, we have to show stronger character, personality.

“It is a moment for us to go and play football and to take responsibility as well… I am always here for our fans, I will not hide, no one can hide.”

Toffies fans are running out of patience. After years of waiting for the top six run, Everton still doesn’t look ready.

However, on a positive note, Everton’s newcomer from Arsenal Alex Iwobi is playing some excellent football.

Everton expect better performances from former Barcelona midfielder, Andre Gomes. Gomes spent a year on loan in Everton, where he impressed.

However, after Toffies bought out his contract, Gomes seems to be underperforming.
