Everton boss Marco Silva is urging Andre Gomes and other members of the squad to learn from the midfielder’s recent predicament after receiving a three-match ban for violent conduct.

Gomes will be a big miss for the Toffees when the Red Devils travel to Craven Cottage as he begins his suspension after admitting the charge.

Silva admitted his “surprise” at the ban but said it was up to Gomes and other players to keep their cool to avoid similar incidents.

Silva told a press conference via FourFourTwo: “Andre is a fair and honest player and he is enjoying what he is doing at the moment but some moments happen.

“It is always tough to play against a player like Mitrovic with his kind of game, but we have to keep our emotional balance.

Manchester United suffer a big injury blow

After some promising results recently, topping it all off with a 3-1 win against Brighton, United have some bad news in store for them.

“I have already spoken to him (Gomes) and it is a moment to learn because it will be tough for us and also it will tough for him to stay out for the next three matches.”

Everton have claimed major victories when the big boys come to town with Chelsea and Arsenal the latest casualties.

Marco Silva has promised to give United a good run for their money on Sunday which may likely jeopardise their Champions League ambitions.
