Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone has warned his players to be wary of the threat posed by Levante ahead of their LaLiga clash.
Second-placed Atletico host Levante, who beat Barcelona during the week in the Copa Del Rey, looking to close the gap to the first position, and Simeone is wary of the threat that Paco Lopez’s team poses.
“They have good transitions in attack, with fast players and Morales as a reference where he falls,” Simeone said, as quoted by Marca.
“They also good players in the middle of the pitch with Vardy and Campaña, good at recovering the ball, good attack on the right with Jason and they have a team profile that works, defends very well and tries to take advantage of the exits to exploit the characteristics of their players.”
“The coach, since he arrived has hit right key in everything he has managed and is having a season.”
Simeone also spoke about the attendance at the Wanda Metropolitano, saying:
“We are used to this situation, I am not surprised at all, the Calderón always dressed wonderfully well 80% of the time and now the Metropolitan is accompanying us in the same way. Athletic re-fill the stadiums because he has always done it in his history.”
Speaking about Lucas Hernandez, who has been linked with a move to Bayern, the Atletico boss said:
“He will be in the squad and on the morning of the game we will decide, he is very good, he is a strong guy and I hope he comes back as he left when he had to go against Alavés.”
