Diego Simeone claims he is not distracted by the current transfer window in the bid to focus and get the best in Atletico’s Madrid’s upcoming matches.

Chelsea’s Alvaro Morata is among the names linked to a move to the Wanda Metropolitano while Lucas Hernandez and Diego Godin have been linked with moves away from the club.

But Simeone made it clear he was only keen on matters related to the pitch ahead of his side’s Copa del Rey tie against Girona.

“I live in training to training, match by match, day by day,” said the Atletico head coach via FourFourTwo.

MLS All-Star Game – Partly Good and Partly Bad

The MLS All-Star Game, an annual soccer event where select players from the league play against a team from one of the top European leagues got invited to face them.

“I focus on looking for those who can hurt Girona. The rest will happen no matter how much you analyse or not analyse, think or not think. No matter what you want or not, what will happen will happen. That is our reality.”

Simeone refused to get involved with Morata’s link but did outline the value of experienced centre-half Godin.

“The importance of Godin for us is clear,” Simeone added.

“I hope he continues in the same way because he has had a very good level in the last three matches.”
