Ahead of the entertaining match against the MLS All-Star team, Diego Simeone would’ve loved having Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Atletico Madrid.

After Atletico Madrid defeated Real Madrid with a 7-3 result last week, manager Diego Simeone is about to face Zlatan Ibrahimovic and other MLS stars.

The Argentine manager analyzed the upcoming match against the All-Star squad, one that will have incredible players such as Carlos Vela, Maxi Moralez, Wayne Rooney, and Zlatan Ibrahimovic himself.

The match will take place on Wednesday evening at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

The Colchoneros’ manager is expecting a very complicated match against this squad filled with talent, he knows that winning this game won’t be easy.

The MLS has bee growing without stopping in recent years, they signed several world-class veterans that helped them improve their level of performance.

The last year has been much more important for the league in the United States, as they signed a handful of players who really helped the competition grow exponentially.

The arrivals of Vela, Rooney, and Ibrahimovic is what has this tournament at the very top of its recent history.

Playing against Atletico Madrid will be a perfect test for this MLS All-Star team to see how much they have improved lately.

“We are currently in pre-season, we are getting every footballer to accumulate minutes and we can’t get away from that,” said Simeone via Diario AS.

“Beyond the result that we got against Real Madrid and Chivas, the intention we had in both matches was great for us to define the base for our objectives this season.”

“We are going to try to improve. We are eager to win this match. In regards to talent and personality, a young Ibrahimovic would’ve been very important for us.”

“I’ve known Maxi since he was a boy, he made his debut with Racing when he was still very young and I can’t form an opinion about his game right now because I don’t follow him regularly.”

“Vela is a very important player, he is one of the most effective when he cots to the middle.”

“We will find many talented players, we will see them performing very well on the individual level and we will try to play our best match.”

“The MLS keeps growing, they have very important players that will help them grow alongside the best clubs in the world.”

“They are doing a very important investment for the clubs to keep on growing. It is clear that this league will keep growing to the point where the powers that be decide to stop investing.”

“They have great opportunities, they have the best tools and they have better managers as they have better footballers. This league will only keep growing,” he concluded.

Atletico started off with the right foot.

As far as we can tell from this pre-season, Atletico Madrid is the club that has done the most impressive preparation.

The Colchoneros started a little earlier than the rest of the clubs, this is the reason they have done a better job than everybody else so far.

After this match against the MLS All-Stars, Atletico will also play against their sister club in Mexico: Atletico San Luis.

When this match goes by, the Colchoneros are set to close their summer tour with an incredible match in the International Champions Cup.

Diego Simeone’s squad will have a chance to get a little payback in the pre-season against Juventus, the Italian giants were the ones who eliminated the Colchoneros from the Champions League last season.

We will never forget the hat-trick that Cristiano Ronaldo scored against them in the return leg at Juventus’ Stadium.

Contrary to the many doubts they had last season, this Atletico Madrid squad seems a lot more solid than most of the ones we’ve seen in previous years.

Not having Griezmann helped them improve several positions by signing new players, this helped them become one of the biggest threats in Europe for the season that’s about to begin.
