Chelsea have added Timo Werner and Hakim Ziyech to their ranks, leaving Frank Sinclair buzzing about seeing them together in action.
Frank Lampard did not add to his dressing room for the duration of the 2019/20 campaign. Chelsea finished fourth in Premier League and were on the losing side in the FA Cup final.
For the upcoming season, they will have the services of Hakim Ziyech and Time Werner in their ranks. The reinforcements are much welcomed in the squad given their qualities.
Former Blues defender, Frank Sinclair, hailed the additions and believe they add much more than the strength in numbers.
“Ziyech has shown Chelsea fans that he is a super player from their games against Ajax in the earlier rounds of the Champions League so I’m really looking forward to seeing him play,” Express quoted Sinclair.
“I think Werner is what I think Chelsea have not had for a while, probably since the Didier Drogba days of a real top-class striker who has pace and is a very tricky player as well.”
With the new season little over a month away, Chelsea are in a race against time to complete their squad.
Sinclair also took out time to reflect on Chelsea’s potential signings, Kai Havertz and Ben Chilwell. He hailed Havertz as a brilliant midfield addition, whilst suggesting that a left-back is a requirement at Stamford Bridge.
“There’s rumours about Kai Havertz, but I think there’s a lot of clubs that will be in for him, as he’s terrific attacking midfield player so we’ll wait and see.
“For me, I think the team needs strengthening in the defensive department with probably a left back, which is something that’s been talked about and perhaps another centre half as well.”
