Kevin Phillips insists Sir Alex Ferguson has given Manchester United transfer advice and he believes they should take heed.
Sir Alex Ferguson can still be seen regularly walking the corridors of the AON training complex and Old Trafford.
His opinion is still highly regarded in the footballing world.
As one of the most successful managers in the history of football if he makes a suggestion or gives advice it’s worth listening too.
According to Premier League legend Kevin Phillips, Fergie has advised United to sign Aston Villa’s John McGinn.
McGinn has been of particular interest to the former United boss as he hails from his native Scotland.
But Fergie believes McGinn would be an exceptional signing for United.
Speaking to Football Insider Phillips believes Fergie is right with his advice.
“You don’t get Alex Ferguson telling United to go and sign someone if you’re not a good player.”
Prior to his injury the Scotland international was a linchpin for the newly promoted West Midlands side.
McGinn is out injured and Villa is desperately missing him.
“I think he’s a massive loss.”
“When you lose one of your best players, if not your best player apart from [Jack] Grealish, it’s going to hurt you.”
