Barcelona head coach Quique Setien is ready to guve Ansu Fati and a host of other youngsters chances in the first team, as per a report from Spain.
As much as six Barcelona youngsters will reportedly get chances to impress for the first team under Quique Setien.
May 4 has been penciled down as the likely date for La Liga sides to resume training, under strict measures, and that could mean a window of opportunity for some youngsters.
Prior to the suspension of the La Liga, Barcelona were running on a short squad due to injuries.
Whenever football does resume, it would mean that squad might be strained even further with lots of fixtures having to be played in a short time.
Spanish publication Marca, now claim that Ansu Fati, Riqui Puig, Alex Collado, Ronald Araujo, Inaki Pena and Monchu could be given chances to stake a claim in the first team setup.
Monchu is the captain of the Barcelona B team and is also the team’s top scorer with eight goals.
The report adds that compared to others, Monchu hasn’t had many first-team chances but has trained with the first-team and is highly rated by Setien.
The report concludes that Barcelona still remain bothered about the prospect of losing the youngsters if the Segunda B Division does resume, as the side could need their top players to compete in promotion playoffs.
