Chris Smalling says he has been working hard to improve himself and is solely focused on getting results with AS Roma.
AS Roma defender Chris Smalling has declared that he will not be drawn away by talks over his future as he only has his eyes on doing his job well at the club.
Harry Maguire’s arrival at Manchester United sent Chris Smalling tumbling down the pecking order under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The 30-year old hence moved to Roma in the summer of last year on loan.
So far, Smalling has been doing well in Italy. He has become a key player in the Roma team and has played 19 Serie A games this season.
And ahead of the Europa League match against Gent, the defender hinted that he has no plans to return to Manchester United as of now.
“We are all working hard to improve, individually and as a collective. You can see how hard everyone works. In the gym, on the training pitch, in the analysis,” Smalling said as Football Italia reports.
“To be honest my focus is only on results. I am very comfortable at Roma. The city is fantastic and the club have welcomed me very well.
“I don’t want distractions now and divert attention from the results.”
