The Red Devils had a very difficult campaign during the 2018-2019 season, and there’s only one way they can get back to the spotlight.
Manchester United had a very disastrous 2018-2019 English Premier League season.
The team ended up in the sixth position of the table, missing the UEFA Champions League qualification.
And then they didn’t play a single final on any of the competitions they played at.
Now, Chris Smalling wants to be clear on what his team needs to do to play a better next season.
“I think consistency,” he told Football 365.
“Obviously since Ole [Gunnar Solksjaer] has come in, our consistency has definitely gone up but I think we know there’s a lot to work on.”
“With Ole and the coaching staff, we’ll have a full pre-season working on a lot of things,” he said.
“Hopefully come pre-season, we can show what we’re really made of through the whole course of the season and be a lot more consistent because ultimately if you want to be top of that league you need that consistency in every game.”
He commented: “You can’t have two or three games where you let your level drop.”
“I think my message would be to keep supporting us. It never goes unnoticed.”
“When we’re winning or losing when we’re doing warm-ups or even when I’m walking down the street, there are United fans talking to me,” he continued.
“I think that’s something we all love.”
