Real Madrid manager Santiago Solari expects to see his side go all-out for victory against city rivals Leganes in tonight’s Round of 16 Copa del Rey clash

Los Blancos are currently winless in 2019 after two games and will be hoping to avoid a repeat of last season’s shock quarter-final defeat to Leganes.

Therefore, Solari is looking for a similar performance from the side who defeated UD Melilla 10-1 on aggregate in the last round.

“The cup is as important as every other competition,” said Solari on the club website.

“It’s very nice to play in and we’ll go out for the win from the first minute. We’ll have to be switched on against Leganes, especially in the opening stages, and be more decisive in the final third”.

“We’ll have to put in a similar performance as we did against Melilla. Leganés are very solid and very well organised.

“We must be switched on, especially in the defensive transitions when they counterattack, and be accurate in attack to take advantage of the chances we create. We’ll go out to win every game to try to win the Copa del Rey”.

The Argentine coach wouldn’t confirm though if new signing Brahim Diaz will make his debut for Real tonight.

The European champions will begin their Copa del Rey clash against Leganes at 21:30 (CET) at the Santiago Bernabeu.
