Real Madrid loanee Borja Mayoral has seen similarities in new boss Santiago Solari and club legend Zinedine Zidane.

Solari became Madrid’s permanent Coach after guiding them to four straight wins and Mayoral has seen enough to rank his qualities alongside Zidane.

Raphael Varane remains silent on Real Madrid exit talk

Raphael Varane refused to budge when it came to discussing his Real Madrid future as rumours that his time at the club will end grow stronger.

“I worked under Solari in the UEFA Youth League when I still played for Castilla, and he was very good.

“He’s very close in his approach. He’s very similar to Zidane. He manages the group well, which is what is always needed at Madrid.

“I’m happy for him because I know him and I’m glad they’ve put their faith in him. He has the characteristics to be successful.

“Like Zidane, he’s a club man, who knows his surroundings, and the players take note of that.

“I remember he said I’d succeed here after a Youth League match. That the current Coach of Real Madrid said that is a source of pride for me. It gives me confidence.”
