Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that his front three are reaping the rewards of the hard work they put in while on COVID-19 lockdown.

Manchester United have been in formidable form since the big restart of the Premier League following the COVID-19 lockdown.

Not only have the Red Devils been winning,  but they have been free-scoring, with an attacking three that is second to none in the Premier League.

In particular, the work of teenager Mason Greenwood has been hailed as spectacular too.

Solskjaer credits the fearless youth of Greenwood, Rashford, and Martial. But the Norwegian tactician is adamant that the work the trident put in during the lockdown is the key to their success.

Speaking to Sky Sports he said:

“I think when you are that age you have no fear whatsoever. Mason goes out there, enjoys playing, and does what he does.”

“It’s the same with Anthony and Marcus, they all have that type of positive demeanor and mindset. To me, that’s football.”

“I think the front three did a lot of good work in the lockdown to be physically ready. They are known as technical players, skillful players, but the first thing we always ask for is that mentality and humility to work hard.”

“That comes first, and then all their skills and qualities in front of goal come. They create chances for themselves with their pressing and movement, it’s not just their skills.”

The attacking style of football that Solskjaer has United playing now perhaps could be a crucial part of their challenge for the Premier League title next season.
