The young winger recently sealed a move to Manchester United and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer believes that the Welshman has all the attributes to be a huge success.
After a rather long round of negotiations, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was finally able to get his hands on Daniel James. The youngster impressed in the Championship with Swansea City and is a promising player to say the least.
And Solskjaer feels that the winger’s exceptional pace and work ethic was one of the main reasons why the Red Devils wanted to sign him. The signing also represents the first winger the club has signed since Wilfreid Zaha arrived from Crystal Palace.
James scored five goals in 28 games for the Swans and is definitely going to be a huge upgrade on the club’s current options down the wings. With blistering pace and great vision, Solskjaer knows he has a talent on his hands.
“Daniel is an exciting young winger with lots of skills, vision, exceptional pace and a good work ethic,” said the Manchester United manager as reported by The Guardian. “He had a great season with Swansea City and has all the attributes needed to become a Manchester United player.
“We are delighted he has signed with our club and we are all looking forward to working with him. This is the perfect environment for Daniel to continue his development.”
James is also looking forward to linking up with his teammates.
James said: “This is one of the best days of my life and a challenge I am really looking forward to. The Premier League is the best league in the world and Manchester United is the perfect place for me to continue to develop as a player.
“This is an incredibly proud moment for me and my family, however, it is tinged with sadness that my father isn’t able to share this experience with us. I am looking forward to working with Ole, meeting the team and getting started.”
