Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer has urged Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard to fight for their place in the Manchester United team.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer suggests he has given each of his players enough chances and that he will not hesitate to drop the underperforming ones from the starting line up.
Bruno Fernandes‘ arrival has sent the likes of Andreas Pereira and Jesse Lingard down the pecking order.
The former has started just one league game while the latter last started in the Europa League ever since Fernandes was signed. Despite having played only six games, the Portuguese has outscored both the players.
Ahead of Man United’s match against Derby County, Solskjaer wants the out of favor players to step up their performances.
“I am not going to feel sorry for you [the player], you have to make yourself available for the next game and competitive in situations. That is what I like,” Solskjaer said, as Metro reports.
“You can’t just speak to them 100 times and say, ‘now we need a change in you’. You have had opportunities. I’ve got to make decisions and one day… well, you give them one warning and that’s it probably, and then the next thing maybe they are not here anymore. You might have to think about it after.”
