Ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League final, Son Heung-min revealed how much he expects he can help the Spurs by scoring a goal.
Despite having Lucas Moura as the great savior during the Champions League semifinals, Son Heung-min is still the best player of the season for Tottenham.
The South Korea international has responded with great results in a season where Harry Kane hasn’t been as active as everybody expected.
The England captain has suffered two major ankle injuries and Son Heung-min has stepped up to the challenge of replacing the skipper.
Whether it’s in the Premier League or in the Champions League, Son has always responded in the key moments with either a goal or an assist.
He wasn’t on point during the semifinal against Ajax because he was suspended for the first leg.
The return leg didn’t bring out the best in him but the squad had Lucas Moura to score a hat-trick.
However, Son Heung-min is already preparing for the upcoming final and he wants to be the player who gives the Spurs their first-ever Champions League trophy.
The South Korean player has been one of manager Mauricio Pochettino’s most trusted men this season, he is only responding to the gesture of goodwill the club had with him when he needed to play for his country.

The South Korean striker spoke to the Evening Standard recently about the upcoming final and what he expects from this match in Madrid.
“I think everyone needs this time to rest,” Son told the publication.
“We’re trying to get as fit as possible, to make sure we give everything in this game.”
“I am a really, really positive guy and it is one of the best feelings to be playing in the Champions League final.”
“I just want to make sure that I am ready for every single ball and every single second.”
“It is in three weeks, so everything is in our hands. I hope that I am in fire mode!” “It’s been a crazy week,” the South Korea international added.
“We spent [last] Wednesday celebrating. We were so happy.”
“And then I realized I couldn’t play on Sunday and I was sad. But still, we are in the Champions League final and it feels so amazing.”
“I don’t want to talk about winning or losing. There’s a long time to prepare for this important game.”
“Winning the Champions League means a lot, but losing would be painful for a long, long time. We just want to be ready and then we will see what happens.”
“Liverpool are a strong team, so how we play will be important.”
"It's such an honour to play in this shirt. I really am the happiest guy in the world."

Mauricio Pochettino’s dilemma.
With the end of the season nearing Tottenham Hotspur, manager Mauricio Pochettino will have a choice to make for the final.
There is a big possibility that he can get all the attacking players fully fit for June the 1st.
This means that the Argentine manager will have a chance to pick between Son Heung-min, Lucas Moura, Fernando Llorente, Erik Lamela, and maybe even Harry Kane.
The England international is currently trying to get back in shape and recover from his most recent ankle injury.
This poses a major dilemma for the boss, who will likely use an attacking trio that consists of Son, Lucas, and Kane himself.
This is a major opportunity for Tottenham Hotspur to win the biggest competition in the world and do it against one of the most powerful Liverpool sides in recent memory.
But the one player who is most likely to play and score a goal has to be Son Heung-min, he is simply in nearly perfect form this season.
Everybody at Tottenham Hotspur is expecting a lot from this specific player, he is the one who has built pressure around him due to his recent performances this season.
