Son Heung-min appeared to apologize to Andre Gomes in his goal celebration during Tottenham’s 0-4 win over Red Star Belgrade.
Son was definitely not to blame for Gomes’s injury.
However, he clearly felt he played a part in the horrific conclusion of the incident.
The South Korean international, made a late challenge that appeared to throw Gomes of balance.
He subsequently twisted his ankle in the fall and suffered a fractured dislocation of his right ankle.
Son was virtually inconsolable in the aftermath and was actually red-carded, although that has since been rescinded.
