Southampton striker Manolo Gabbiadini set to rejoin former club

Manolo Gabbiadini is poised to join Sampdoria from Southampton in a permanent deal worth £11.7million reports Dailymail.

Gabbiadini joined Southampton from Napoli two years ago and had an impressive start to his English Premier League career but will now leave the club after scoring 12 goals in 55 games. He has only scored one this term.

Gabbiadini who has featured for Italy national team 11 times signed for Sampdoria in 2013 scoring 19 times in 55 appearances before signing for Italian Seria A heavyweights Napoli in 2015.

He played for Napoli for two seasons before arriving England for a spell with Southampton.

The Southampton manager was amazed by the display shown today by the footballer after his team won 2-1 over Tottenham Hotspur.

Southampton are currently battling to escape relegation.

Although many signings are expected this January, it is yet unclear which players are coming to the side which boasts of selling some of the best Performance in the Premier League currently. Liverpool duo of Sadio Mane and Virgil van Dijk all played for Southampton before joining Liverpool.

The club will be hoping to build a formidable team for the second half of the season.
