England had problems with beating Tunisia in their opening game of the tournament but Gareth Southgate was happy with the performance and he claimed that he hasn’t seen any team playing better than England did so far.
The Albion grabbed an important victory but they had some problems with overcoming Tunisia and just Harry Kane’s late goal saved them from dropping points at the beginning of their journey.
Southgate spoke about his side’s effort as he said, according to Sky Sports:
“I think every team will want to improve but we hit a level that is comparable to anything that I’ve seen.”
“I’m very pleased with so much of what we’ve done, pleased with the mentality of the players and for keeping their patience.”
“To win the game in the manner we did, in the end, was pleasing. It is important for them that they got a game under their belt, that they played well, that they experienced what it feels like to win with England in a big tournament.”
