In his most recent press conference, Southgate confirmed that everything is back to normal in the England camp.
According to the BBC, Southgate feels everyone is happy again.
“What I saw on the training ground over the past couple of days, there was full focus on the game.”
“With everybody very together, laughing, enjoying their football again. That’s where all of us want to be.”
While Southgate admits he is probably not Sterling’s favorite person right now, the City man has handled things excellently.
“I wouldn’t imagine he’s hugely enthusiastic about me”
“We move forward. The way he’s trained has been exemplary.”
Southgate considers the matter over, and once the Montenegro game is over, Sterling will be back in contention to play for the Three Lions.
When asked if he has any doubts about recalling him for the Kosovo game, Southgate replied:
“None, none whatsoever. We took the decision and drew a line under everything.”
