Mesut Ozil took a stance the other day by tweeting about the Chinese awful treatment of Muslims in that country.

According to The Athletic, Mesut Ozil was aware of the backlash that was about to ensue.

And the backlash was big, to say the least.

Ozil’s name has been completely removed from the Internet in China. Furthermore, his fan club of 30.000 is closed.

The Arsenal playmaker is struggling on the pitch this season.

However, his off-the-pitch activity is admiring. The German called out China for imprisoning and discriminating Muslims in their country.

The Gunners distanced themselves from the statement. That prompted Demba Ba to slam into the club.

However, it’s nice to see a player take a stance in such money-driven times.
