Spurs have to keep Pochettino, says Jamie Redknapp

Sky Sports pundit Jamie Redknapp believes that Tottenham Hotspur have to retain the services of Mauricio Pochettino if they are to progress as a club.

Pochettino has been widely tipped for the United job after the sacking of Jose Mourinho last month.

Even though Redknapp knows that the Argentine has the qualities to become the next permanent Manchester United boss, he has urged Spurs to keep him.

“He knows they haven’t won a trophy yet but in terms of what they’re producing on the football pitch… you can see why Man Utd would want him; he ticks every box – plays young players, plays exciting football, gets his team organized, players adore him,” Redknapp told Sky Sports.

“But if Tottenham are going to grow, they have to keep him.

“If you lose him, it gives the players an excuse to go as well. He is vital to what they’re doing going forward.”
