AS Roma forward Stephan El Shaarawy will be remaining at the club for the new season, says his brother-agent
The former AC Milan star had been linked with a move away from the Italian capital this summer to Serie A rivals Torino with Roma having sold a number of key stars with goalkeeper Alisson becoming the latest one in his world record move to Liverpool.
But El Shaarawy’s agent and brother, Manuel, has now publicly denied that the 25-year-old will be following his teammates out of the Stadio Olimpico.
“He is happy and doing fine in Rome,” said the agent, according to Football-Italia.
“He is focused on the start of the season and he isn’t thinking about anything other than the next year with the Giallorossi.
“I can assure you he will stay with Roma. The chances he will go to Torino are equal to nothing.”
Fiorentina is another club that has been linked with a move for El Shaarawy.
“Pantaleo Corvino is a big admirer of Stephan but I can rule out his transfer to Florence.
“There has also been an offer for Stephan from the Premier League.”
El Shaarawy scored seven goals and registered four assists in 33 Serie A games for Roma last season.
