Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers are top of their Europa League Group G after beating FC Porto 2-0.
Rangers did all they had to do in just four second-half minutes.
It was an even affair at Ibrox, as there was little to separate the two sides.
A 69th-minute goal from one time bad boy Alfredo Morelos opened the scoring.
Ryan Jack crossed from the right finding his target Morelos.
The Colombian set himself as the ball rolled across his body, he took the deftest of touches on the edge of the 18-yard box.
He hit the ball on the half volley, beating Marchesin in the Porto goal, and the Glaswegians went wild.
The fans had not finished celebrating the first goal when up popped Steven Davis to double the lead only four minutes later.
This time Morelos turned provider, as he cut back from the left-hand side, and found Davis.
The Northern Ireland international picked up the ball 20 yards out from goal, and let rip a thunderous goal-bound shot.
it appeared the Porto keeper had it covered.
Until Ivan Marcano got a touch on it, to leave him stranded and best positioned to merely watch the ball hit the back of the net.
Final Score: Glasgow Rangers 2 – 0 FC Porto.
Gerrard will be well pleased with the result against a Porto side that were contesting the quarter-finals of the Champions League last year.
