Luis Suarez has identified Lautaro Martinez as a viable replacement option for himself at FC Barcelona.
33-year Luis Suarez has warned Barcelona that he does not have much left to give and has urged them to show urgency in signing a potential replacement.
The Uruguayan has been uninvolved in his side’s on the pitch affairs as of late after undergoing surgery on his right ankle at the start of the year. Barcelona were left even more thinned out following Ousmane Dembele’s long term setback.
Despite Martin Braithwaite‘s arrival, Barca are still hunting to add reinforcements. Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is believed to be the Catalans’ prime transfer target. He has scored 16 goals in 30 games this season.
And Suarez believes Martinez’s arrival could do Barcelona a great deal of good.
“It’s his second season in Italy and he’s been on great form,” Suarez told RAC1.
“But you have to understand that we, the players, don’t make the decisions. We don’t make the decisions.
“If it’d been down to the players, we would’ve brought in forwards a long time ago. I’ve been saying for two years that it would be good to bring in a forward, a young forward so that they can learn for when I leave the club, but they didn’t listen to me.”
