Luis Suarez has backed Barcelona in their pursuit of both Neymar and Lautaro Martinez.
Having scored 16 goals in 31 outings so far, Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez is enjoying an impressive breakthrough season.
With numerous clubs circling for his transfer, the Nerazzurri will find it difficult to keep hold of Martinez after this season particularly when Barcelona, who are eyeing a replacement for aging striker Luis Suarez, come calling.
Meanwhile, Barca are also looking to sign Neymar in the summer. The Brazilian joined Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 but has been linked with a move back to Camp Nou ever since.
Either of the transfers will cost the Catalans a huge chunk of their transfer budget. And with the coronavirus pandemic causing financial implications, it will be interesting to see how Barca manages to pull it off, that is if at all they do.
Suarez, however, is open to seeing both Lautaro and Neymar play alongside each other at Barcelona.
“Obviously Ney, everyone knows him,” Suarez told Mundo Deportivo.
“We know the appreciation that we have for him in the dressing room, which is as a player is indisputable because he still has a lot to give and in the dressing room he would always be welcome because of the affection he has.
“Lautaro is a player who has been growing a lot in Italy. He is a ‘nine’ who has movements that are spectacular and that reflects how great a striker he is.”
