Surely Liverpool aren’t crazy enough to lose Wijnaldum

Liverpool legend Steven Nicol thinks Liverpool would be crazy if they were to lose Georgino Wijnaldum.

Wijnaldum joined the Reds back in 2016, for 27.5 million Euros from Newcastle United.

The Dutch international has been a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s, squad.

He has played 166 goals for the Merseysiders, scored 16 goals and contributed 16 assists, from the midfield.

While he is not one of the flamboyant characters of the Liverpool team.

His stats show that he is a tireless workhorse who wins the ball and distributes well.

There have been murmurings out of Anfield that his contract expires in 2021 and currently 29 years-of-age, he will not be offered a new one.

Speaking to ESPN FC, club legend Steve Nicol thinks if this is true the club has gone crazy.

He said:

“The suggestion is that they’re not going to offer him a new contract.”

“That makes no sense whatsoever.”

“He’s been a huge part of the success of Liverpool over the last 18 months to two years.”

“I would suggest this is absolutely crazy.”

Liverpool fans are not happy with the situation.
