Ajax left-back Nicolas Tagliafico has warned Juventus that his side will approach their encounter with the same enthusiasm they had Real Madrid.
On paper, the star-studded Juventus team will easily brush aside the young Ajax team, but the displays of the Dutch giants against the top European teams this season calls for concern.
The explosive 3-3 draw against Bayern Munich was somewhat overlooked by Los Blancos who paid the price in their 4-1 drubbing at the Santiago Bernabeu- their worst home defeat in Europe.
With Juve aiming to win the Champions League crown since 1996 after beating the same opposition in the final, Tagliafico claims Allegri’s men will have one of the longest 180 minutes in the campaign.
“We’re going to have the same enthusiasm we had against Real Madrid when we play Juventus,” he revealed in the quote cited on Football Italia.
“Ronaldo has to be stopped as a team. We have to face players of their quality with our weapons, winning the ball back, having possession, trying to take control of the game.
“It’s not going to be at all easy, but the tie is 180 minutes long. We have to arm ourselves strategically very well for these two games.”
The winners of this encounter will end up playing either Spurs or Man City in the semi-finals of the competition.
