The Brazilian midfield is at Shakhtar for six years now, having built reputation as one of the most constant figures for the Ukrainian giant.
Taison is known for his great shot, thus providing a surprise factor from the midfield.
At 31 years of age, Taison is looking for his last opportunity to prove himself in the top five European leagues.
The opportunity arrived this summer when AC Milan came knocking looking for reinforcement in the midfield.
However, the deal fell through as Milan’s offer wasn’t good enough.
Taison’s agent now went publicly, speaking to Calciomercato, explaining the details of a failed deal.
“Milan were interested.
“Shakhtar didn’t accept the offer presented by the Rossoneri. They demanded the full value of the €30m release clause.”
Asked about Taison’s disappointment after realizing he’s not moving to Milan, agent added:
“He’s very close to Shakhtar, he’s the captain of the team. He’s having a great season, everything is going the right way.
“Clearly, he admires Milan a lot, it would have been a pride to wear that shirt. But now he respects the team he plays for, the fans and the leadership.
“For the moment, there has been no contact for a possible future negotiation. Everything depends on Shakhtar.”
The midfielder is captaining Shakhtar now, as his team is looking for Champions League knockout phase qualification in a group with Atalanta, Dinamo, and Manchester City.
On the other hand, Milan is struggling at Giampaolo was sacked just seven fixtures into the league.
Pioli took over in an attempt to steady to ship.
