Roma needed more striking options
Nicolo Zaniolo huffed and puffed throughout the match. He was energetic against his former employers but the 20 year old is not a genuine attacking threat. For 70 minutes the Giallorossi struggled without a goal scoring outlet.
And it was evident from their inability to trouble Milan back four. It was only with the introduction of Edin Dzeko that Roma stretched Milan’s defense. The Bosnian was suffering from flu but still gave a good account of his abilities, holding ball and keeping the Nerazzurri defense guessing.
