Japhet Tanganga made his debut for Tottenham a couple of days ago and it was against the world’s best team currently – Liverpool.
Tanganga more than impressed, providing an excellent performance against the Reds.
He now spoke about his feelings before the match and how his team-mates encouraged him.
“I had nerves leading up to it – a couple of nights I hardly slept,” he started quoted by Express.
“Obviously beforehand I was thinking those two are probably up there with the best.
“Mane’s the African Player of the Year. He’s a great player, Salah’s a great player.
“But leading into the game, the boys were just encouraging me. They were telling me Sonny’s a great player as well.
“You come up against him in training. Harry Kane, Lucas Moura – they’re top players so you’ve just got to handle them the way you’ve been doing in training.”
It looks like a bright future is ahead of Tanganga. Injuries may have opened the door, but his quality could keep him in the first team.
