Burnley defender James Tarkowski scored the only goal as they beat Brighton 1-0 at Turf Moor, and has thanked the fans for their support.
Burnley scored the only goal of the game five minutes before halftime, as Tarkowski beat the goalkeeper from close range after the ball rebounded to him after a melee in the box.
After the game, the England international was grateful for the home support as they recorded their first victory in eight Premier League games.
“I thought the fans were terrific today,” Tarkowski told the club’s website.
“You could see how much it means to them and us.
“They have stuck with us because we all know it’s not been a great start to the campaign, but we’ve had some great times over the past few seasons and we need them now for the rest of the season.
“It’s a huge win and so important and you can see how hard the lads were working at the end there and the desire they were showing to keep that clean sheet.
