Tebas: VAR has not been bad but needs to be explained more

LaLiga president Javier Tebas has had his say on the controversial issue of VAR. He believes the technology has to be explained more.

It was only a matter of time before Javier Tebas would have been forced to make a comment on the contentious issue of VAR.

VAR has been the subject of debate in the Spanish top-flight since the restart. We have witnessed a number of questionable decisions.

The trending issue was further fueled when Gerard Pique and Barca president Bartomeu hinted at a particular bias for Real Madrid. Los Blancos have scored a number of penalties of recent.

As eyebrows continue to be raised over the matter, LaLiga president Javier Tebas dropped a comment on the matter.

“I would give VAR a seven out of 10 rating, it still needs to be explained further, it has technical flaws,” Tebas admitted in an interview with AS.

Rumors of Neymar re-joining Barcelona never seem to end. Elsewhere, Xavi Hernandez continues to be linked with a return to Camp Nou despite a recent extension with Al Saad. Tebas was asked to make his pick for his preferred choice to happen if he was Barca president.

“If I had a choice between Neymar coming back or Xavi returning to Barcelona as coach, I’d pick the one which led to Messi staying in LaLiga Santander,” he added.
