Erik Ten Hag has cleared the way for Jose Mourinho to become the Bayern Munich manager, after ruling himself out.
Ajax boss Ten Hag had been linked with the Bayern Munich job even while Niko Kovac was still in charge.
So obviously once he got the sack, the speculation only intensified.
Ten Hag, however, has come out to confirm that he will be staying at Amsterdam.
According to Talk Sport, he is happy at Ajax and is going nowhere.
“Yes, I can confirm I will stay.”
“I feel a strong connection with my team, everyone at Ajax. I can confirm I will stay at Ajax this season.”
He is full of admiration for the Bavarian giants, who he has worked for in the past.
“Bayern is a fantastic club, it is still in my heart but I am at Ajax. I’m not a dreamer.”
“I focus on Ajax and live for today and tomorrow’s game, which is important.”
While Allegri is still a possibility, he had said earlier in the year, he was taking a full year out of football.
Now with Ten Hag out of the picture too, that now leaves Mourinho as the front runner.
