According to the Barcelona goalkeeper, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, there are no problems with fellow Germany national team stopper Manuel Neuer.
Ter Stegen wants to play more games for the Germany national team, but the spot has been owned by Neuer for many years.
But this week they will both play, one against Argentina and the other against Estonia.
“I don’t feel pressure,” ter Stegen told Sport in English.
“I just want to be at my best in the game.”
“We want to be at our best. Despite the players we’re missing, we will have a lot of quality on the pitch,” he added.
He explained his rivalry with Neuer: “Everyone wants their place in the team and gives everything for that. Being professional also means having a good relationship with others.”
“There’s no problem between us, the opposite: we help each other. There’s respect.”
“Manuel knows I was referring to my situation, so I don’t think we need to clear anything up. We speak, we have a professional relationship and that will continue,” he concluded.
It's not often you see a nutmeg from a goalkeeper…
