With incredible saves throughout the whole match, Marc-Andre ter Stegen saved FC Barcelona from an incredible Borussia Dortmund.

We were already expecting Borussia Dortmund to play some impressive football against Barcelona tonight, the Catalan club has Ter Stegen to thank.

The German goalkeeper was the absolute hero of the evening after making an important number of saves throughout the 90 minutes.

We saw an especially interesting duel between him and Marco Reus from which the goalie came out victorious.

This FC Barcelona squad is looking as dull as they have been over the past few years, they keep ball possession but they are not a vertical squad.

Borussia Dortmund were the ones who proved to be more dangerous, they had Jadon Sancho to thank for that.

In a day where we all wanted to compare two up and coming teenagers, it is clear that Jadon Sancho is way more experienced than Ansu Fati at this point.

The England international has made incredible progress over the last year that has allowed him to become a key player for his squad.

Jadon led most of the chances that Borussia Dortmund created, he started the match on the left-wing but he had permission to change positions as he saw fit during the game.

There were many chances in which he needed to get coverage from both Gerard Pique and Clement Lenglet.

Ansu Fati made his Champions League debut.

Apart from Jadon Sancho, the other interesting news of this match was the inclusion of Ansu Fati in Barcelona’s starting eleven.

The 16-year-old kid played from the very start next to Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann, but he didn’t show too many details of quality.

People perhaps expected him to score again for this game, but Signal Iduna Park is too daunting for any player.

Regardless of the missed opportunity, Fati still proved that he can be important for Barcelona in the future.

The Catalan club really struggled to create any real chances against a well-organized Borussia Dortmund defense.

The few opportunities they had were extremely limited, not even Suarez or Griezmann were comfortable playing against the German squad.

The true stars of the match were Jadon Sancho on one side, and Marc-Andre ter Stegen on the other side.

However, we didn’t see them perform their best moments until the second half of the game.

We got an interesting first half with no goals, but the best moments of the game were saved for the compliment.

FC Barcelona’s bench had Lionel Messi coming back from his injury, he didn’t start because Valverde didn’t want to risk him.

There were some bad news for Barcelona’s side, Jordi Alba suffered a hamstring injury and Sergi Roberto took his place five minutes before the break.

Messi was going to have to wait for his moment, Valverde gave Ansu Fati a few more minutes to play on his UEFA Champions League debut.

The match took a wild turn as Borussia Dortmund started going forward with more regularity, Jadon Sancho was leading the charge as usual.

The young English player was slippery on his side of the pitch, he is more dangerous on the right flank than he is on the left.

Ten minutes into the second half, he tricked Nelson Semedo into making a foul inside the box.

This was the golden opportunity that Borussia Dortmund was waiting, Marco Reus took the penalty in front of Ter Stegen.

The German goalkeeper played some mind games with his teammates from the National Team and saved his penalty.

Messi came on the pitch just a few minutes after this crucial moment of the match, a victory was still possible for the Catalan club.

Leo didn’t play too much after coming on the pitch, he needs a little more time to get some rhythm.

This was also the first time Griezmann shared the pitch with his captain during an official match, but they weren’t able to make the best out of the occasion.

There was another crucial save that Ter Stegen made in front of Reus during the final moments of the match, this was the reason Borussia Dortmund didn’t win the game.

Ter Stegen is the most valuable player at Signal Iduna Park this evening.
