Ter Stegen has hailed Quique Setien’s philosophy at the club, revealing the 61-year-old asks the Barca team to depend on him more.
Marc-Andre Ter Stegen has hailed Quique Setien’s tactics at the club and has also revealed they involve him being in the thick of the action more.
Barcelona face Napoli in Setien’s first Champions League game as Barca manager and the Catalan side would be looking for nothing less than a win.
Setien is known for his willingness to retain possession and attack wherever possible and now he wants to start that possession right from the back.
Ter Stegen was also quick to add that the Barcelona team respect him and believe in his philosophies.
“The coach asks the team to depend on me more,” The 27-year-old admitted in an interview with Barcelona’s in-house media via Marca.
“He wants to play more with me, we have to take advantage of this superiority to move the ball forward.
“I’m always happy when I have the ball, either with my feet or with my hands.”
Ter Stegen would be looking to provide a solid performance for Barcelona as they face Napoli in the Champions League and the important El Clasico a few days later.
