When the legendary Frenchman replaced Rafael Benitez in January 2016, nobody really knew what to expect.

While Zidane was a magnificent player, he never really stood out as a leader on the field.

In fact, Ronaldo Nazario recently revealed he never imagined the “introverted” Zidane would one day coach Los Blancos. And Ronaldo definitely wasn’t the only one either.

But the 48-year-old proved his credentials by leading Real Madrid to Champions League just five months into the job.  He then led them to European glory in the next two seasons to complete a remarkable treble.

And if Zidane manages to lead Real Madrid to another Champions League title this season, then he may earn himself a place among the greatest managers in history.
