The Bundesliga is more exciting than ever this season, it is going to have a grand finale between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund.

This Saturday was Bayern Munich’s chance to become the Bundesliga champions one fixture before the finale.

The German giants are still positioned first and they needed to win today at Leipzig if they wanted to defeat Borussia Dortmund.

Lucien Favre’s squad also needed to win their match and for Bayern Munich to not win in order to stretch the drama until the very last day of the season.

Much like it’s happening with the Premier League between Liverpool and Manchester City tomorrow, the German championship will end next weekend with a bang.

Niko Kovac’s squad wasn’t able to get past RB Leipzig as a visitor, they couldn’t avoid a goalless draw and this was the ideal moment for Borussia Dortmund to get closer at the top of the table.

American forward Christian Pulisic was the star of the evening for Borussia Dortmund, he bid farewell to the fans before going to Chelsea next season.

The forward scored the initial goal through a header after an assist from Delaney, this advantage was kept until the second half at Signal Iduna Park.

Fortuna Dusseldorf scored the equalizer as soon as the second half began, Fink did it through a header as well.

The local squad wanted to keep pushing forward and they got their second goal soon after that Fortuna equalizer.

Delaney scored his goal on his second attempt after getting a first shot deflected.

Belgian striker Lukebakio got a penalty awarded after getting fouled inside the box but he missed his attempt from the spot with 30 minutes still left on the clock.

Not too soon after that missed penalty from Fortuna Dusseldorf, Jadon Sancho got on the pitch for the remainder of the second half.

The English winger received a nasty tackle during the final minutes of the match from midfielder Bodzek, who was immediately sent-off after the incident.

During the final moments of the game, we got some great drama for Dortmund. Mario Gotze scored his side’s third goal in complete agony but Fortuna responded to that goal with a volley from Kownacki.

The final result was in Borussia Dortmund’s favor with a 3-2 victory that allows them to keep their Bundesliga dreams alive.

Bayern Munich’s match was happening simultaneously in Leipzig and all of Germany was watching both games.

The final Bundesliga fixture.

Thanks to this bad result from Bayern Munich, we are in for an epic conclusion of this very exciting season.

Borussia Dortmund was at the top of the table for more than half a season and Bayern took that spot from them when they played each other back in April.

The Bavarian squad has kept the top of the table for the rest of the season but this latest draw may ultimately get the Bundesliga title away from them.

The last fixture will take place next Saturday with all matches taking place at the same time.

Both title contenders will play complicated matches to close this tournament and decide who keeps this season’s trophy.

Bayern Munich will get a visit from Eintracht Frankfurt at home, while Borussia Dortmund will play a Derby against Borussia Monchengladbach at Borussia Park.

Both squads will play very complicated games and we’ll see who is worthy of winning the 2018-19 Bundesliga trophy.

We encourage you to check your local listings where you can watch these two matches at the same time, next Saturday will be wild in German football.
