The Kylian Mbappé stat that compares him to Ronaldo

After his goal vs Amiens in Ligue 1 for PSG, youngster Kylian Mbappé achieved another stat that proves he is comparable to Brazilian Ronaldo.

Regardless of what any of us thinks about either Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo in today’s football, there is no denying that Kylian Mbappé already is one of the best players in football history at the age of 20 years old.

The French phenomenon played this weekend in Ligue 1 against Amiens in a match where Neymar wasn’t present, he scored an ominous 70th-minute goal that was coincidentally his 70th career goal as well.

The scary part of all this is the age in which the World Cup champion reached this number, because when compared to other all-time greats from modern football, only Brazilian Ronaldo scored more goals at that same stage of his career.

Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo pale in comparison at the same age, but Brazilian Ronaldo’s stats at that age were very scary for such a young player.

Those damn knee problems were the only reason the Brazilian didn’t become the best player in football history, because the numbers he was already punching in were already around triple digits.

But the comparisons started taking a weird turn right after Kylian Mbappé scored this goal when people in the UK started comparing him to poor Danny Welbeck from Arsenal FC on social media.

It may have been a skit at first with this comparison between the English striker who has scored 69 career-goals and he is already 28-years old, this comparison is at best unfair and people need to leave Danny alone.

The current season for Kylian Mbappé has him already scoring 13 Ligue 1 goals this season, a number that keeps him at the very top of the goal scoring table in French football and only three goals shy off Lionel Messi’s 16 La Liga goals.

The fight for the Golden Shoe is starting to take shape, and Kylian Mbappé is hands down one of the most important contenders for this prize that the Messi owns at the moment.

We are living in a new era after 2018, one that will start to tell us that the new generations are taking over from the old ones and this French wonder kid is at the very top of the conversation with his Ligue 1 goals.

But the competition is fierce throughout Europe, as there are many players who are currently competing for the Golden Shoe from not only Ligue 1 and La Liga, but also from Serie A, the Bundesliga, and the Premier League.

Del Bosque picks Mbappe ahead of Neymar

Vicente Del Bosque recently disclosed he would rather have Kylian Mbappe in his team than Neymar, citing the French star's mental strength as a major...

Kylian Mbappé being right up there mentioned with the players we are about to mention boggles the mind because of how young he is.

We’ve already mentioned Mbappé and Messi leading their respective competitions, but Cristiano Ronaldo is still going strong with his 14 goals in Serie A. The Bundesliga has Spaniard Paco Alcacer and Croatian Luca Jovic with 12 goals each.

But hands down the most competitive race for goals is currently in England, where Mohamed Salah and Harry Kane have been challenged by Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

All of the Premier League strikers have currently 14 goals each, but the Tottenham Hotspur striker has a golden opportunity to take the lead of Sunday if he manages to score against Manchester United at Wembley this Sunday.

The competition is very stiff all over Europe, a very different landscape to the one we had only four years ago when the world was widely dominated by Messi and Cristiano with the occasional appearance of Luis Suarez.

The Uruguay striker, by the way, is also fully involved in the race for the Golden Shoe with his 12 La Liga goals for FC Barcelona so far this season.

Kylian Mbappé is in very good company right now, but he can only be compared to the likes of Brazilian Ronaldo now after reaching his latest milestone.

It’s scary to think how far he can get, we’ll be there throughout the whole way to find out.

How many career goals do you think Kylian Mbappé will be able to score by the time he retires? Please share your opinion in the comment section down below.
