Former Liverpool player Steve McManaman insists there is no way either Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah are leaving Liverpool this summer.
Both Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have been in excellent form this season. Their contributions have been immense in Liverpool’s charge for their first league title in 30 years.
However, both have been linked with moves away from Anfield this summer.
Both players have been linked with Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona. Neither club misses out very often on a transfer target.
In fact, Liverpool has a track record of struggling to keep hold of their prized assets when big clubs come calling. Who can forget, Suarez and Coutinho to Barcelona, or even Torres to Chelsea?
But things are different now according to McManaman. The former player believes that events like that were when English teams were not the best in the world, but now they are.
Speaking to HorseRacing.net he is confident it won’t happen again.
“Well Real Madrid already has Eden Hazard, they bought Rodrygo last summer.”
“They’ve just invested in Reinier in January, so I’d take rumors like that with a pinch of salt.”
“Regardless of how the Champions League turns out this season, the best teams in the world at present are the English teams.”
“Real Madrid and Barcelona are not!”
“They both want to start again and bring in a few new players because they’ve both had disappointing seasons this year.”
“So they’re going to start turning their squads over.”
“Despite this, I don’t think there’s any chance of either Sadio Mane or Mohamed Salah going to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.”
So the question is if they are going to sign Sancho and Werner, how good will Liverpool be if they keep Mane and Salah too?
