Real Betis midfielder Giovani Lo Celso insists the club have a lot of work to do if they’re to ensure qualification to the second round of this season’s UEFA Europa League.
The Andalusia-based club played out a 1-1 home draw against Gennaro Gattuso’s Milan in their fourth game of the Europa League so far, a result which put them on top of the group, one point ahead of their illustrious Italian opponents.
Spanish attacking midfielder, Suso scored the all-important equalizer for Milan in the 62nd minute, after Lo Celso had opened the scoring for the home side in the first half.
The Argentina international insists the group is still wide open and believes he and his teammates must work harder if they’re to make it to the next round.
“In general, we put in a good performance, but we leave it with a bitter taste in the mouth because we wanted the three points,” Lo Celso told Spanish TV, as quoted by Football Italia.
“We are still in a good position in the group, but there is still a lot of work to be done before we can qualify. There are two very difficult matches left.”
It’s likely that Milan’s trip to Greece to face Olympiacos, who also have seven points, will be decisive in the final match of the group phase.
