AC Milan have undergone a significant positive transformation since the last time they faced Atalanta in Serie A, asserts Stefano Pioli.
AC Milan were handed a rigorous 5-0 beating at the hands of Atalanta at the Atleti Azzurri d’Italia back in December.
Milan, however, have managed to turn a corner ever since the embarrassing result. In the nine matches they have played after the restart of football, they are yet to be found on the losing end of a scoreline despite having played against the likes of Juventus, Lazio, and AS Roma.
The Rossoneri will be looking for revenge as when they take on Atalanta at San Siro on Friday for the reverse round of Serie A fixture.
Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Stefano Pioli, who recently signed a two-year contract extension, insists his side will be aiming to keep up the good form against high-flying Atalanta.
“We want this run of form to continue for as long as possible,” said Pioli, as Football Italia reports.
“Atalanta are top in almost every statistical area, but we’re doing well ourselves and we want to put in a big performance.
“We’ve changed a lot compared to the first game against them, which was particularly bad for us and good for them. We’ve changed the way we play and some important players have come in. This is a different Milan.”
