The Schalke footballer scored two goals in today’s 4-2 win against Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga.
Schalke defeated Borussia Dortmund 4-2 in today’s German Bundesliga fixture, and the team couldn’t be happier.
According to Daniel Caligiuri, who scored two goals in today’s game, the win will give them confidence for the rest of the season.
“It’s great to score two goals, but it doesn’t matter who scored. The only important thing is the team,” he told the club’s official website.
“A derby win is always something special and three points are very important in our situation.”
“I’m pleased for our fans most of all! They give everything they can for us, week in, week out and pushed us forwards,” he added.
“We have proven today that we can fight and show a positive mentality. This win will give us the confidence we need for the rest of the season now. We have shown that this team can be successful together. We can proud of ourselves.”
Alexander Nubel also wanted to talk about the game saying: “I was really excited for the derby and I’m so happy now. It’s a great feeling to win away at the Black and Yellows.”
“I have to admit that I was worried though, as I’ve never experienced a game like that. You still lose if you are ahead and have more players on the pitch,” he continued.
“Breel thankfully found the answer we needed after they’d scored a second. Once we had a fourth, I knew we wouldn’t let it slip.”
