Paris Saint-Germain manager Thomas Tuchel has confirmed that Neymar will miss Wednesday’s game against Strasbourg due to injury.

Neymar gave the French champions the lead during their 2-2 draw against Bordeaux on Sunday, the goal standing after a long VAR check, but the former Barcelona star left the pitch early in the second half.

Kylian Mbappe restored PSG’s win after Jimmy Briand equalized for the home side, but Andreas Cornelius headed a late leveler to end Tuchel’s winning run in Ligue 1 at 14 games.

Le Parisians are back in action on Wednesday, away at Strasbourg, and Tuchel has already ruled Neymar out of the game.

The Brazil international was injured on international duty last month, hurting his groin in a friendly against Cameroon at MK Don, and missed the league win over Toulouse as a result.

Neymar Sr: “Man United comeback is impossible”

Neymar's father has ruled out any chance of his son making an early return for Paris Saint-Germain's second leg against Manchester United in the Champions League.

“I think it’s the same injury,” Tuchel said, according to FourFourTwo.

“But I haven’t seen yet.”

“We have to be careful. He said it was not a problem playing today.”

“Hopefully, we will have him back after the Strasbourg game.”

PSG host second-placed Montpellier on Saturday before traveling to Serbia to face Red Star Belgrade in their final fixture of the group stages of the UEFA Champions League.
