Like all competitions across Europe this season, the Champions League has needed to battle on behind closed doors.

That hasn’t stopped every game throughout the competition from being enjoyable affairs, as there have been no shortage of talking points in the tournament so far this season.

However, with the group stages now done and dusted, all the attention will swiftly turn towards the knockout stages, which get underway in February. You can stay up to date with the latest Champions League live table and scores throughout the knockout rounds here. But, which teams should fans have a closer eye on that have an outside chance in the tournament this season?

Juventus are among the teams at a higher price for this season’s Champions League, but they would be a side that many will be taking a second look at ahead of the knockout rounds. They have been handed a reasonable tie in the next round of the tournament, as they will be coming up against Porto, and will have the added advantage of playing the second leg at the Allianz Stadium.

As well as that, they will be able to call upon the highest scorer in Champions League history, Cristiano Ronaldo. Andrea Pirlo has struggled to find his feet during his first season with the club, but their best performance of the season came in this competition. Juventus were excellent as they beat Barcelona 3-0 at the Nou Camp on the final matchday, with Ronaldo scoring twice.

PSG will not be found at bigger odds than Juventus, but they are still reasonably priced at double digits with most sportsbooks. The French side performed excellently in this competition last season, as they reached their first-ever Champions League final. But, this season they will be looking to go one better under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The Argentine has history in this competition, as he steered Tottenham Hotspur to the final in his last season with the club. But, at PSG, he will have the players to call on to go one better. The fitness of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar will ultimately be the deciding factors on their chances this season, but now would be the best price to get on PSG winning the Champions League, as their price will shorten if they can get past Barcelona in the next round.

Those looking for some each-way value in the outright market shouldn’t look past reigning Europa League champions, Sevilla. The Spanish side are a force to be reckoned with in Europe, and while they were beaten by Chelsea at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium earlier in the season, they are typically a tough side to break down at home.

Sevilla highlighted that they are an excellent outside bet for the Champions League this season after impressing throughout the group stage. They finished behind Chelsea by one point after winning four of their six games. The La Liga side will be coming up against Borussia Dortmund in the next round, but they have the defensive robustness to claim victory over the two legs.
